Vladimír Mečiar's attitude towards Slovakia integration in NATO

This bachelor thesis discusses the attitude of Vladimír Mečiar towards Slovakia's integration into NATO during the period of his third government (1994 - 1998). The thesis follows the steps of Mečiar, that led to international isolation of Slovakia and to the exclusion of Slovakia from the first NATO enlargement. Bachelor thesis focuses on development of Mečiar's approach towards Slovakia's integration in NATO, from pro-western to neutral or even pro-russian orientation. The aim of the thesis is to determine whether Mečiars attitude towards NATO changed over time and whether the steps he has taken were in line with his official statements on the subject.
Process of democratic consolidation in Slovakia in years 1989-1998

The bachelor thesis discusses the process of democratization in Slovakia in the years 19891998 and tries to answer the question whether this process was successful. The thesis analyzes various factors that have influenced the course of democratic consolidation. The work is based on the theoretical concept of democratic consolidation of the authors Samuel P. Huntington, Juan J. Linz and Stepan C. Alfred. This thesis focuses on the single territory in a certain period of time, therefore the main method used is the case study. In addition to the case study, a comparative method and various statistical data are used. For a better understanding of the issue, consolidation within Czechoslovakia and Slovakia is compared, as well as individual electoral programs and their subsequent application and compliance in practice. The analysis of democratic consolidation in Slovakia is conducted on the basis of a study of selected literature, media archives and relevant internet resources. The thesis is divided into 5 main chapters. The first chapter deals with the theoretical basis of democratization and the concepts of individual authors. The Early Parliamentary Elections in Slovakia 2012

This thesis deals with the early parliamentary elections in Slovakia in 2012. It analyzes the profile of individual elements of the electoral system and their impact on the overall form of the outputs of the electoral process.The second part deals with the development of party and electoral system since 1989, taking into account the period of the government of Vladimir Meciar. The final section focuses on the period of government Iveta Radičová and its collapse as a reason for early parliamentary elections. I am also analyzing the campaign and election programs of chosen parties. Finally, I am presenting the results of the elections themselves and looking for the cause of victory of the SMER party.
